Start-Ups are a big part of the American Dream. Starting your own company based on your own ideas or something you are passionate about it a common theme in this country. In this week's Tuesday Fix, we will explore three different companies from before they started, to where they are now!

1. How I Built A $75 Million Restaurant Empire: "When Marcus Samuelsson was working as a chef in France, he was told that he’d never own a restaurant because there weren’t any Black-owned businesses with the ambition that he had. This propelled him to move to America where he had seen Black excellence and was motivated to bring his vision to life. Today that dream resides in Harlem and has become one of New York City’s most famous restaurants."

2. Adobe Inc. - From a Garage to an Empire: The company that brought you photoshop, Adobe's products have aided many people and companies to improve their own image, sell products, tell stories, and change the world. In this video, ColdFusion tells the tale of the rise of the company, and how a kidnapping of a founder was also part of it's story!

3. How I Sold My Start-Up To Lululemon For $500 Million: "Meet Brynn Putnam. The CEO and founder secured $3 million in venture capital to fund her tech-based fitness company MIRROR on the same day that she gave birth to her son. In the summer of 2020, Putnam sold MIRROR for $500 million to Lululemon. The pandemic has been good for business. MIRROR ads are plastered across New York’s subway, airing on TV and clogging up social media channels."
